A COLLECTION OF ORIGINAL DRAWINGS AND ENAMEL MINIATURES IN LONDON.
A series of never-seen-before life portraits and enamel miniatures of the royal families of Europe commissioned by the Moscow Kremlin Museums in the 1990s with an estimated value of£10million.
The collection of enamel miniatures will form the centrepiece of The Royal Portraits, an exhibition in London in April. Nine enamel miniatures encased in white gold and framed with diamonds, together with eleven life drawings and more than fifty photographs of the sittings will be on display.

This will be the first time the entire collection has been shown. After the conclusion of the exhibition, the Queen will be presented with an original portrait in celebration of her Diamond Jubilee. Her Majesty has kindly agreed to accept this gift which will become part of the Royal Collection, looked after by the Queen on behalf of the nation.
The collection features HM Queen Elizabeth II, HM Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother, HRH the Princess Royal, HRH Princess Michael of Kent, as well as HM Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands, HM King Harald V of Norway and HM Queen Sonja of Norway. The leading miniature portraitist Alexei Maximov is the first Russian artist in history who has been given permission to portray these royal family members in their official residences.
