I went to the Royal Ontario Museum (ROM) today! It`s free for university students with valid student id on Tuesdays which is really great. The Maya exhibit is on and only costs $5 for students. Unfortunately I didn`t have enough time to check it out, but I did go on the first 3 floors.
The first floor is focused on Canadian, First Nation, Chinese, Korean and Japanese culture. It`s really interesting and it`s amazing how they have managed to find things from so long ago.
The second floor is focused on dinosaurs, birds and other mammals. There are lots of fossils and replicas hanging from the ceiling as well as a bat cave. This is probably the best floor for a small child, there are interactive areas and it`s super interesting.
The third floor focuses on African, European, Middle East and South Asian culture. I didn`t get to spend much time because it closed at 5:30 but they have amazing exhibitions.
The ROM is a great place to go, they have recently lowered their prices and they host special events quite often. If you`re a university student I highly suggest taking advantage of the free admission on Tuesday :)
Have you even been to the ROM?
