Roberto Carlos is the latest big name to sign up for the Classic Match 2012 pitting the Real Madrid veterans against Manchester Uniteds old boys. All proceeds raised from the match will go towards helping the needy in Africa. The club is hoping for a capacity crowd, although there are still some tickets left for fans who decide to go at the last minute (prices range from 5 to 15 euros).
Roberto Carlos will be making his debut in this charity fixture, which is now into its third year. After an eleven-year stint in Madrid, the Brazilian full-back made his last appearance at the Bernabéu against Mallorca on 17th June 2007. He departed the club fresh off the back of winning his fourth league title, having also picked up three Champions Leagues, two Intercontinental Cups, one European Super Cup and three Spanish Super Cups during his time at the capital club.
The Brazilian will be joining a cast of former Real Madrid players including the likes of Zidane, Figo, Buyo, Illgner, Hierro, Sanchís, Karanka, Redondo, Helguera, Martín Vázquez, Butragueño, Alfonso, Santillana and Morientes.
The `Red Devils` will be bringing a star-studded squad with them to the Bernabéu. Manchester United has confirmed that Andy Cole, Bryan Robson, Clayton Blackmore, Denis Irwin, Dion Dublin, Dwight Yorke, Edwin Van der Sar, Jaap Stam, Jesper Blomqvist, Lee Martin, Lee Sharpe, Quinton Fortune, Raimond Van der Gouw, Ronny Johnsen, Roy Keane and Teddy Sheringham will all be taking part in the game.
