When I used to watch my diet while losing weight, I had the strongest cravings for chips. As chips were very high in sodium, calories and fat, I just couldn`t afford to eat them.
So I found an alternative, I bought a lot of the Korean and Japanese roasted seaweed/laver packs you see at the Asian supermarkets and I ate a pack every time I had a craving for chips.
These were great as each pack was between 10 - 30 calories and the amount of seaweed you get is reasonable. They are pre-salted and you can choose different types of oils. Each oil has its unique flavor.
My favorite was the Grape Seed oil, not shown above. Above is sunflower oil which gives the seaweed no aftertaste.
A giant package of 10 packs costs about $5.99 here, which is highly reasonable considering how healthy it is.
I bought these to work one day and my coworker called it "The Ghost of Sushi".
Have you guys tried this?
