So after work I decided to take the bus that stops by the Portuguese bakery on the way home and try something new. For $1 I figured what do I have to lose? Well let me tell you a $1 haha. I am usually fairly impressed with what I choose when I go to bakeries and when I saw this tart I was like what kind of filling is white like that. So I asked and found out it was a ricotta tart. I wasn`t sure if I`d like it or if my family would so I just got one. I am sad to say this is one of the only times I have been disappointed with a pastry. The tart crust was hard. I usually like to try and pry my tarts out of the aluminum mold to eat, but unfortunately as you can see from the top it didn`t want to come out. This was probably because of the dense ricotta mixture that settled into the crust of the tart. It has a nice lemon flavor, however the texture was like a hard sponge and wasn`t my idea of delicious. It did have a ricotta cheese taste along with the lemon but was not my idea of delicious considering the texture.
Have you ever had a ricotta tart before?
