Rice Porridge With Beef (Chao Bo)

There are many ways to make rice porridge, you can have beef, pork, chicken, or plain. In my culture this is called "Chao", typically eaten when you`re sick or when it`s cold but you can eat this at any time also. Last night my dad made a huge pot for the family-- we had rice porridge with beef (to be specific organic ground beef).

What I eat with my chao:
A must for me is the chinese donut, also known as "Youtiao" - you`ll find this at your local Asian Market for about $1. I like to toast it and cut it in pieces to eat with my porridge.
Another must is dried garlic! Adds a nice crisp to the porridge.

Optional to be more healthy, add greens (cilantro, lettuce).
