If you saw my earlier post, you`ll know on Monday evening I went out and came home with two Revlon polishes that are new to my collection. They are part of the Colorstay range of polishes. I have used a lot of the regular Revlon polishes but this is my first time dabbling into the Colorstay kind. This polish is in the color Rain Forest. It is a blackened green base color with emerald green glitter specks running through it. The glitter isn`t necessarily micro-fine, but it certainly isn`t chunky glitter, either. It almost melts nicely into the polish. I thought this would make for a fantastic fall, and possibly even winter, nail polish. It kind of reminds me of China Glaze Emerald Sparkle. I mentioned in my haul post that I don`t know if it is a perfect dupe. I plan on swatching them side by side soon to compare. (keep a watch out for that!) This bottle of polish contains 0.4 fl oz of product. The typical bottle of polish has just a tiny bit more at 0.5 fl oz. Really, you probably wouldn`t truly notice a difference. But, I`ll admit I prefer to see the .5.... lol! The Colorstay polishes will cost you $4.99 at Target. I`m not certain how much they run at other stores, but I`d say not too far from that price. Personally, I feel it is a tough high since it is still a drugstore brand and I end up paying less for my Essie, OPI, China Glaze etc. Granted, that is with license, but... you understand. Because of that it makes me cringe a bit to pay more for drugstore. You can always use coupons to bring down the price, though. Okay, so what you really want to know is how this polish worked out for me. Well, application was awesome! I am wearing two coats in the photos. One coat was a bit patchy and I don`t think you could get away with it alone. I do think you need the two coats to make sure everything is smoothed over. It wasn`t gritty to the touch. The glitter is nice and smooth with the polish itself. I didn`t notice any pooling or glooping up. I`m pretty impressed with how this went on. PLUS, it has a nice brush. It is in the paddle style, but not as large as, say, the OPI pro wide (though the same style).
