Hey Guys! So I have been looking for natural eyeshadows that I can wear to school and on an everyday basis. I went through my moms stuff to find a drugstore brand to use and I found this Revlon Illuminating Powder Shadow palette in `Nearly Naked`. It had beautiful neutral shades as you can see in the picture above and I was really excited to try it out because I have quite liked some of Revlon`s other makeup products.
The palette came with four shades: a shimmery penny color (top left), a shimmery champagne pink color (top right), a light olive shimmery color (bottom left), and a chocolate brown with slight shimmers (bottom right). Right of the bat I would have liked one more color in a matte or less shimmery shade like the champagne one.
Before I get started though let me just say one thing: I am in no way bashing Revlon, I just did not like this palette what so ever.
Firstly, when you swatch these shades on your hand they all look practically same and though I understand that they are neutrals, you are atleast supposed to be able to differentiate between the shades. They all looked the same and if they were going to have this happen, just have one shade instead of butchering the whole palette.
Secondly, the pigmentation is - mind my language - crap. I tried to rub my finger it for a while to get a good amount of shadow on but it was such horrible pigmentation that it looked like I had just put shimmer on my hand.
Thirdly, the color that I did get on my hand faded very quickly. I gently swiped my finger across the colors and they immediately faded and took all the color with it. The only shade that barely stayed on was the less shimmery brown and again, barely.
The only saving grace for this palette was its sponge tip double sided applicator. I normally don`t like the applicators of palettes but I liked this one because it was pointed towards the tip so you could use it to smudge eyeliner and apply shadows to you inner tear dot.
So, I wouldn`t recommend this palette and I was really disappointed with it considering some of the other products that I had tried of Revlon`s.
