I have said it before and I will say it again. Revlon is one of the best, if not THE BEST drugstore brand out there. The quality of their products is very comparable to high end brands. I think I have finally found my holy grail drugstore foundation. And I never thought I would ever say that about drugstore foundation because the majority I have tried have been mediocre.
The foundation I am referring to is Revlon`s Colorstay whipped foundation. I was a huge fan of their original formula but I must say that this one is far better. I was skeptical at first because I have never really liked the texture of "whipped" foundations but this one is different. Its really creamy....like buttah.
Prior to using this foundation I was using Neutrogena`s healthy skin which I really but didn`t love. I was also using Neutrogena`s Skin Clearing foundation which I liked at first but then notice it was sort of drying. I decided to purchase Revlon Colorstay whipped on a whim and I am really glad I did. Sometimes some of my favorite products are those I don`t spend too much time thinking about.
This product is an excellent choice for those who are looking for a medium to full coverage foundation. It stays put from the moment I put it on until the end of the day. I love that I don`t have to use too much concealer when using this product. One thing I must add is that this product works a million times better if you apply it using your fingers rather than a sponge or makeup brush. Not sure why, but I have tried all three methods and found that applying this with your fingers works best.
The only negative thing I have to say about this product is that the packaging is a little deceiving. From the outside it looks like you are getting a lot of product but it only contains .8 fl oz. The packaging is very beautiful and made out of glass but it`s not too practical nor does it come with pump which normally would be a deal breaker for me if I didn`t love this product so much. It also doesn`t have SPF, which doesn`t bother me too much as long as I wear moisturizer that does contain SPF.
Overall I am really loving this foundation and encourage you all to try it! I am in the color Buff which is crazy since normally I am the lightest shade in every foundation so that pretty much tells you that even those who are paler than I am can find a shade that matches.
The price of this foundation is not too bad. Less than $10 at Target and Walmart. $14 at CVS or other Drugstores.
Have any of you tried this foundation? Thoughts?
