Revlon ColorStay Smoky Shadow Stick - Swatches amp Review

So this is one of the new Revlon product that recently hit the market and to be honest, I was reluctant about picking up this product since my past experience with drugstore eyeshadow creams were never really that great, except for the Maybelline Color Tattoos. I read a good review from someone I follow so I decided to give it a try.

Revlon claims these to be crease-proof, fade proof, and long-wearing.

I only picked up the shade 210 Flare, which consist of a shimmery light lavender shade on one side and a shimmery dark plum on the other. As you can see from the pictures, the dark plum color has a more pointed shape to it. That makes it perfect for applying on the crease.

There is actually very little product when I twisted both ends all the way up. It`s approximately 3/4" long. Net weight is .07 oz or 1.9 g. The packaging is ok. I do like that it comes in a stick packaging, that it is cream base, and the fact that you get two colors in one. It means that you can work with it with just your fingers and won`t require other tools. I find that expecially great when you are in a rush and don`t have a lot of time to do your makeup. However, after using it for the first time, the plum shade got loose and broke off from the base.

Upon swatching on my hand, I felt like the creaminess and pigmentation was decent and that both colors can relatively complement each other. However, it didn`t translate the same way on my eyes.
The colors applied patchy, especially the lighter shade. I really had to rub it in in order to get a decent color payoff.
As far as blendability, ehhh, not that blendable. The product feels dry so if you had to blend it with your fingers, you`ll have to apply some pressure, which is not good since the skin around your eyes is more fragile and sensitive. With the left eye, I used a primer. The right eye doesn`t have primer. As far as color payoff, it looks the same with or without a primer.

To be honest, I did not test this to see if it will last all day without fading and creasing, which is what the product claims to do. If I already have trouble with the product from the getgo, it`s enough for me to not want to reach or touch this product again. I`m pretty disappointed. The patchiness and difficutly blending the colors was enough for me to call it quit and not even bother to see if it will last all day. I mean if it doesn`t even look good when applied, I like to think the majority wouldn`t even bother to wear it for the rest of the day, right?

My rating: 1/10.
