I picked this lip butter up at CVS and oddly enough it was the ONLY one in the entire store. I purchased it because it looked like a safe shade for someone with my skin tone and with my pigmented lips. Low and behold it is and its absolutely stunning on!
Pink Truffle is a pink shade with brown undertones. Its a very wearable pink and not a BAM! look at me pink, I would most certainly have this as an every day lip because its just so pretty and natural looking. The color is definitely buildable, but I find two swipes over my lips and Im good to go and its the perfect shade for me which I was extremely pleased with because my lips are very pigmented. I happen to wear lip balm often (I apply it frequently its almost an obsession), so I dont find this dries my lips, but I do find they help in continuing to keep the moisture to my lips. Even though these are moisturizing and termed lip butters, I would not wear this as a substitute to my regular lip balm/chapstick regiment.
As with most of the other lip butters, this one wears very well, but you will need to reapply as you would with about any other lipstick/chapstick after eating, drinking, etc. The only thing that bugs me about all the lip butters that I have purchased is that the product is so creamy in consistency, when lowering the product back into the container, it tends to smear on the outside of the holder. Which means I have to wipe it off every time. Have any of you found a way to perhaps make this not happen?
These typically retail anywhere between $6-8 depending on where you purchase, but if you can snag them during a sale or even with a coupon you can get them for a lot cheaper. I paid $2.99 for this during a sale at CVS.
