Review: Urban Decay Naked Skin Foundation

The product that I will be reviewing is the Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Ultra Definition Liquid Foundation.

PRODUCT CLAIMS:
"It feels like wearing nothing at all, yet Naked Skin transforms complexions. Skin looks natural, illuminated and bright, like the beautiful skin you were born with. Weightless and virtually invisible, this revolutionary, paraben-free formula creates a flawless, demi-matte finish; light-diffusing spheres make you look professionally retouched. It`s the ultimate in ultra definition. Infused with Matrixyl 3000 (a powerful anti-wrinkle peptide), protective and brightening Litchiderm, antioxidant green tea and vitamins, this makeup loads skin with nourishing ingredients.

$38 for 1 oz

The packaging of this foundation is beautiful with its clear metallic cap that is of a nice weight and the clear exterior - everything just looks really sleek. The foundation comes up with a pump, which is always nice. There are also mixing balls inside that helps you mix the foundation because you are asked to shake it before use. One thing to note is that the packaging easily transfers hand prints and stains.

The shade that I got this foundation in is 3.0, which is a light shade with golden undertones. I quite like the way their shade matching system is designed; shade numbering ending in ".0" are warm shades and anything ending in ".5" are cool shades. In my opinion, this foundation has light to medium coverage and it is buildable as well. The foundation is actually pretty runny and thin. On the skin, the foundation is really blendable and actually feels really light! Although the foundation does a good job at evening my skin out while making it appear brighter at the same time, it does not fully cover my dark spots and blemishes. I had to use additional concealer for that. The finish of the foundation is a demi-matte, so it`s sort of like a satin finish. I found that for my skin type (normal/slightly oil in T-zone) I didn`t have to set the foundation but the foundation definitely stayed on longer when I did. Average wear time for me is about 7-8 hours and the foundation did hold up during those hours. There is no SPF in this foundation, which made it good for taking photos but bad if you prefer SPF in your foundation for daytime wear. You can apply this foundation with a brush, but I mostly just prefer using my hands or with a beauty blender.

OVERALL, I do recommend you trying the Urban Decay Naked Skin Foundation.
It looks natural on the skin and does a good job at evening the skin tone as well. Get a sample and try out this foundation if you haven`t! While it may HG for some people, it isn`t mine - but I do really like the formula.
