The product that I will be reviewing is the
Up & Up Eye Makeup Remover. Up & Up is the official brand for Target. This product is compared to the Neutrogena Oil-Free Eye Makeup Remover.
PRODUCT CLAIMS: Use to gently wash away waterproof makeup without stretching or pulling skin. Skin is left fresh and clean with no residue. Aloe and cucumber extracts help soothe skin.
DIRECTIONS: Since this is one of those bilayer makeup removers, you need to shake it really well so that the two layers can mix together and can then be activated. Then, just apply the product onto a cotton pad and apply on closed eyelids.
PRICING: You can purchase this product in Target stores for under $5. You get 5.5 fl oz (162.6 mL) of product.
PACKAGING: The product is held in a clear plastic container with a twist-off cap. You have to be careful to close the lid really tightly when you twist/untwist the product or else the lid might come loose. Also, my first bottle of this product, I accidentally dropped the bottle on the floor and the lid ended up cracking and I spilled half of the bottle so just be careful.
REVIEW: For under $5, I think that this is a REALLY good eye makeup remover. In fact, I think that it is even better than the Neutrogena Oil-Free Eye Makeup Remover, which I also really like and have gone through several bottles of. This eye makeup remover does a really nice job at removing my eyeshadow and mascara, even waterproof mascara. For tougher mascaras that are hard to get off, such as the CoverGirl Lash Blast, I do find that I have to hold the cotton pad a bit longer for the eye makeup remover to really break down the mascara. With this remover, I find that it does leave behind sort of a film on my eye area, but it doesn`t make my vision blurry or anything. I`m not bothered by this because after I remove my eye makeup, I wash my entire face anyway. I also think that this eye makeup remover does a good job at removing eye makeup gently. My eye area doesn`t become red or irritated because nothing gets pulled on or tugged and the eye makeup remover does seem to soothe the eye area.
OVERALL, I rate the Up & Up Eye Makeup Remover an A. For the price, I think it is an excellent eye makeup remover and is even better than the Neutrogena Oil-Free Eye Makeup Remover that I loved. I do highly recommend this eye makeup remover and I will be repurchasing the Target Up & Up version of this eye makeup remover from now on, rather than the Neutrogena Oil-Free Eye Makeup Remover (which is more expensive).
