Review: The Body Shop Hemp Hand Protector

The Body Shop Hemp Hand Protector has probably got to be my most favorite hand cream that I have used and discovered.
PRICE: You can purchase this product at The Body Shop store locations and online. It retails for $20 for 3.3 fl oz of product. I believe they also have a smaller travel size as well for half the cost.
PACKAGING: The product is environment-friendly and hence is in this aluminum/tin tube that is recyclable. To be honest, I`m not a HUGE fan of the packaging for the following reasons. First, with regular use and from it just being stored or thrown around in your bag, the tin tube becomes cracked and wrinkled. Second, when the tube becomes that cracked and wrinkled, there are product that gets trapped in those spots. Also, I think that if the tube gets really torn out, eventually, it`s likely that it will rip at a certain spot and product will get out.
KEY INGREDIENTS: (Taken from TBS website) - Allantoin: Soothes and moisturizes the skin. Is rich in minerals that help to revitalize the skin. - Organic beeswax: Moisturizes and helps to condition dry skin, especially on your lips and around the fingernail beds. Acts as a barrier that helps to seal in moisture. Helps to keep product texture consistent when used over time. - Glycerin: An effective moisturizer which helps improve softness and maximize hydration. - Hemp seed oil: Has an unusually high concentration of essential fatty acids that help to repair the skin`s moisture barrier thus helping to restore moisture, smoothness and suppleness. - Panthenol: Is proven to improve flexibility of the nails, helping to reduce flaking and breakage.
REVIEW: During the winter, this product saved my hands because it felt so dry and cracked from the colder weather. The cream that dispenses is light green in color and it is extremely thick in consistency. Once it is on the skin and massaged in, I think that the product spreads around really easily. Some people might say that this product is sticky, but I don`t think it is sticky at all. It does sort of have this tacky feeling that is not uncomfortable to me. There`s this moisture barrier that is left and is long-lasting on the skin. The product smells like hemp. If you don`t know what it smells like, you should try it before purchasing it in stores if you can. It`s really hit-or-miss. To me, it smells herbally and I sort of like the scent of it! With regular use of this product, my hands and cuticles are no longer cracked and they just feel so moisturized! You can also use this on other areas aside from your hands such as elbows, knees, feet and heels too.
OVERALL, I give The Body Shop Hemp Hand Protector an A- I love how plump and moisturized it leaves my skin after. It might seem expensive for a hand cream, but I think it is actually really reasonable because the product lasts such a long time and you do not need a lot of product at all! I have also tried another hand cream - the /viz/review-loccitane-shea-butter-hand-cream. Click if you would like to read my review on it! theBodyShop
