The product that I will be reviewing is the
Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush in Dollface.
PRODUCT CLAIMS: Infused with natural clay harvested from the banks of the Amazon River and naturally baked by the sun, this nutrient-rich blush benefits all skin types for a fade-free flawless finish for an amazing 12 hours. For oily skin types, Amazonian clay minimizes oil in and around pores to balance skin and keep product in place. Those with dry skin will benefit from the clay`s nourishing and hydrating properties, which naturally restore skin`s moisture. Combination skin types can rely on its ability to zero in on skin concerns and deliver benefits to restore complexion harmony.
PRICING: You can purchase the Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour blushes at Sephora and the Sephora website. They retail for $25 each for 0.20 oz (5.6 grams) of product.
PACKAGING: Each blush is contained within a thin, circular plastic compact. One thing that I really appreciate is that each blush color has a different colored compact. This makes it really useful to distinguish between which is which Tarte blush in your collection. The compact flips up and you get a full-sized circular mirror on the top half. The blush has the Amazon river design embossed in it. One thing to note is that you can actually pop out the pan to put inside a separate palette if you choose to do so!
REVIEW: Blushes are my favorite makeup item so when Tarte came out with these Amazonian Clay 12-Hour blushes last year, I had to try them! The first thing that I really loved about this blush is the shade range - they have natural shades along with brighter, wearable shades that are really flattering on the cheeks. I believe that most of the shades in this line are matte as well, which is awesome because it`s a bit harder to find really nice, matte blushes. Dollface is described as a nice, light pink and that`s what it is. It gives the cheeks a really nice pink look to them. Compared to Illamasqua`s blush in Katie [click to see review /viz/review-illamasqua-powder-blusher---quotkatiequot], it`s not quite as opaque and as light a milky baby pink. On the cheeks, I find that the blush really lasts on me! I can probably get 9-10 hours of wear on this blush without having to retouch so that`s really great. The blush also blends well on and sits really well on the cheeks. The powder is soft and really compact so you do not get any powder fall-out when swirling your makeup brush into the pan.
OVERALL, I give the Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush in Dollface a B+ I really love the formulation of the Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour blushes. However, I don`t think that Dollface is a really unique shade. At $25 a blush, it`s expensive, but I think these are worth checking out. The other shades in this blush line are really pretty.
