Hello lovely Luuuxers!
In honor of the Sephora Friends & Family sale coming up very soon, I thought I would share a review and some swatches of a little kit I bought the last time I hauled anything from Sephora. I picked this set up from the checkout line, which most of us are suckers for! It is the Stila All Over Shimmer Liquid Luminzer Set, which retails for $10. Each of these little bottles contain 0.05 oz of product, and the three shades are listed as Rose Gold Shimmer, Pink Shimmer, and Bronze Shimmer.
As you can see in the swatches, the three colors are GORGEOUS. The lightest shade is like a pale pink that reminds me of Benefit`s High Beam. The pink one is so pink that I think it would look better paired with or underneath a shimmery blush, and less for a highlight on the bridge of the nose or cupids bow. The bronze one is a bit dark for me now, but will be perfect in the summertime, once it rolls around again! It would also, obviously, be great for ladies with darker skintones than me (which is pretty much everyone, I`m really pale!).
As for performance, they do look beautiful when blended out on the cheekbones. I personally love the look of them, especially when I dab a bit of the lightest shade on the inner apples of my cheeks. However, they do have quite a bit of sparkle in them. Some people don`t really care for that, because sparkles can be a bit garish for daytime and could emphasize larger pores. I personally wish it didn`t have as much visible sparkle, and was more pearly instead, but I usually only wear highlighters when I`m getting all dolled up at night, so I don`t anticipate this being a problem, since sparkles are a bit more appropriate for nighttime.
-If you wear highlighters on a daily basis, I would probably stray away from these, and instead get something like Benefit High Beam or Watts Up. The Stila ones have too much visible sparkle for daytime wear.
-If you want an economical set of liquid highlighters that come in beautiful shades for a night on the town, then I highly recommend this set, because for $10, you can`t go wrong!
Are you interested in this set from Stila? Do you buy things impulsively from the checkout line at Sephora too? Do you love wearing highlighters? What do you think of sparkles in makeup products?
