So Ive been using the Revlon Colorburst Matte Balms pretty much everyday since I got them and I will say that I LOVE them more then the original Revlon colorburst balm stains that came out last year or so. I only have these two shades in Striking (red) and Sultry (mauve) but if I do find more I definitely plan on getting some other shades.

The packaging is the same as the original balm stains but the finish on these tubes are matte. Its still very much the same chubby stick retractable concept as the balm stains. This product also has the same light minty scent as the balm stains which is nice. From what Ive experienced with these two shades is that they are very creamy and glide onto the lips easily. The pigmentation is really good and I was actually surprised at how pigmented in one swipe these turned out. They are very smooth and buttery so they glide on the lips easily and dont drag on the lip which is really great. These are supposed to have a matte finish hence matte balms but I feel like these arent a true matte finish. It appears matte with the tiniest bit of sheen to it but I think its like that because of the fact that its so creamy and not drying which I dont mind. I personally love matte finished lip products and I really dont mind that these have a tiny sheen to them because its not drying. As for wear time I felt like it held up reasonably well at 2-3 hours before I reapplied. But since these are darker shades these did stay on the lips longer since it kinda stained the lips. When I did reapply the product it reapplied nicely with no dragging on the lips so reapplication is pretty much hassle free I feel like with this product. I know some reviews said that these apply patchy and tend to accentuate dry patches on the lips but I didnt really experience that. Whenever I apply lip products I tend to exfoliate and moisturize my lips prior to applying a lip product especially one that is a darker shade so I didnt really have those kinds of issues. If you are the type of person who does have dry lips Id suggest exfoliating and moisturizing your lips first instead of assuming that a lip product caused your lips to dry out. Just saying.

*STRIKING: Cool toned red slightly orange shade. Its not too dark so you can easily pull off this color during the day. A little goes a long way with this, I find that with one to two coats it gives good color payoff but you can easily build up the color.

*SULTRY: Dark mauvy color. Its one of those my lips but better shades for me! Great for everyday use and also a great lip color for any skintone.

Anyways, Im very happy with this product! Like I said I do like this product more then the balm stains which is quite sad since I have all the balm stains and dont know what to do with them now. Revlon also released the lacquer balms with I believe are suppose to be gloss, Im not sure but I wont be getting those just because I tend to favor more matte lip products then glossy or shiny ones. Fingers crossed that these matte balms become permanent because that would be amazing but for the time being Ill be on the hunt for the other shades!
