Hello lovely Luuuxers!
Today I am writing to you with one of the best drugstore lip products I have found in a long time: the L`Oreal Infallible Pro Matte Glosses. If you`re like most beauty lovers out there, you`ve noticed that liquid lipsticks are all the rage right now, and for good reason. The bold colors, matte finish and ultra long wear make them hugely popular! Unfortunately, I was never able to completely jump on the liquid lipstick bandwagon. My lips are dry and flake very easily, meaning that the drying formulas made my lips more dry than a desert, and made them look flaky and, well, weird.
The Infallible Pro Matte glosses basically took everything good about a liquid lipstick--the vivid color payoff and the long-time wear--and got rid of the bad--namely the drying formula. Don`t let the name of the product fool you, these are more of a lipstick than a lipgloss to me, in that they have completely opaque color payoff with only one swipe. At first when they are applied, they have a satin finish, and feel soft and supple when you press your lips together. In my mind, this makes them feel a lot more nourishing to my lips compared to liquid lipsticks that dry down really quickly. These lipsticks take a little while to dry down, meaning that they can still transfer a bit for the first few minutes of wearing them. However, they do eventually dry down to almost a completely matte finish, and last an impressively long time without drying or cracking off my lips.
I`ve included swatches of the four Infallible Pro Matte glosses I purchased:
1. Statement Nude (which, in case you`re wondering, is an awesome dupe for Kat Von D Lolita!)
2. Nude Allude (which is a slightly lighter and pinker, less brown version of Statement Nude)
3. Aphrodite Kiss (a bright pink-red)
4. Shanghai Scarlet (a classic blue-red)
As you can see from the swatches, the pigmentation is really amazing! I think I may have found my all-time favorite liquid lipstick formula. I honestly would have paid high-end prices to have a lipstick this nice!
I`ve also heard through the grapevine that these are dupes for the Giorgio Armani Lip Maestro lipsticks--though I`ve never tried those so I can`t say for sure! GA is owned by L`Oreal so I wouldn`t be surprised if they were at least similar. And at $9.99 a piece (cheaper if you wait for a BOGO sale at the drugstore) I would definitely say forego the Armani price tag and stock up on these!
Next time I`m at the drugstore, I`m looking forward to picking up a few more shades--Bare Attraction, Forbidden Kiss and Rebel Rose are on my to-buy list!
Have any of you tried these amazing liquid lipsticks from L`Oreal yet? Let me know in the comments below! :)
