This Christmas I was very happy to receive a wonderful gift for a makeup lover - Stila In the Light palette. A lot time has passed since when, so I thought it would be a good time to finally do a review on it.
This eyeshadow palette consists of ten different shades which can help to make the looks for different occasions. It seems to be an universal item filled with natural colors just like a UD Naked palettes. A side mirror also makes it travel friendly as don`t need to carry one of your own separately. Moreover, kit includes one full size automatic brown eyepencil which always comes in handy even if you would want to change it with other one from your collection because there`s enough space to put it in.
Now onto the colors:
The lightest one is called bare. It`s a perfect yellow based mat highlighting shade. I use it all the time on the inner corner of my eye and bellow the brows.
Bellow it and next to it are two shimmery shades. First one is a bit darker bronze based while the other one is lighter champagne gold. Those two shimmers are my favorites from the whole palette. They always make the look special whether I would put a touch on the center of the lid or bellow my water line. I love the texture of those too. It quite differs from the other shades and has a pleasant a creamy feeling although is just a pressed powder.
Bellow the color mentioned last lays the shade which makes an illusion of dark brown but for real it`s quite a light not so pigmented ginger color. Not my favorite I have to say. Also has a tiny bit of shimmer.
Next from the top we have a rosy type of another mat shade. But I like to use this one in the crease for more natural looks. This one also has a dry consistency but is easy to build up.
Bellow it is a nice dark sort of grey`ish shade all mixed up with a dark brown and shimmer. Haven`t used it as much as I would love to but definitely have some big plans in the future for this rich gorgeous color.
The next two colors from top to the bottom are both well pigmented colors. First one is really deep bronze shade a lot darker then my other shiny favurite and bellow it comes jeans blue shade mixed with grey and shimmer. Have nothing to complain about them, just two good colors.
The last two left are mats both squeezed in the upper and lower corners. I was really impressed with the pigmentation of the dark brown shade which has a lovely pear mat finish. However, black one was quite bad. Looked so good in the packaging but there`s a lack of pigment.
And here are all the colors. With some ups and downs I think it still can be called a good pallete for someone who likes natural look. All the colors stay quite good, some of them are even hard to wash off. The packaging is really cute too, definitely would make me want to check this product out.
I would give it 7.5/10
xo xo, I.
