Review: Queen Helene Mint Julep Masque

I found these old pictures that I took awhile back but never did a post for. So... The product that I will be reviewing is the Queen Helene Mint Julep Masque.

PRODUCT CLAIMS:
"Queen Helene Mint Julep Masque is the original natural home treatment, developed by a dermatologist. that will actually dry up acne pimples, rinse away blackheads and even help shrink enlarged pores"

You can purchase this at various drugstores and mass retailers that carry Queen Helene. The only place that I know that carries it in the tub as at Sally Beauty Supply, which is where I get mine. It`s available in-store and online at the Sally Beauty Supply website. For 3oz of product, you are only paying for $3.69 or $3.29 if you have the Beauty Club Card.

This product is most commonly seen in a squeeze-tube, however, I prefer to purchase mine from Sally Beauty Supply because the product is in a big, rounded plastic tub with a twist-off lid. I much prefer this packaging over the squeeze-tube because you are able to get ALL of the product out! With the squeeze-tube, you are bound to have product that are stuck and gets left over in the crevices of the tube. I do not find the tub packaging unsanitary because my hands are clean anyway when I apply the mask.

To me, the Queen Helene Mint Julep Masque is one of those products that I consider a staple in my skincare regimen. I might not use it every single week, but I always need to have it available because it is a product that works! When my skin is feeling "dirty" and gross, I love applying this mask just because it feels refreshing on the skin because of the mint in this. I know when my skin needs to have a good cleansing because I can see the dirt and blackheads arising around my nose area. After using this mask, this area becomes clean again and free of impurities! I also love using this mask when I am breaking out tremendously and need to dry out my pimples. In conjunction with my Benzoyl Peroxide acne treatment, this is great for drying out your pimples! I also sometimes use this mask as a spot treatment for my pimples and leave it on overnight. I can`t say that this mask helps shrink large pores, however, I do notice that with the use of this mask, my pores are clean and hence they are less noticeable on my face! To apply this mask, I first use my face wash and then rinse. I will then pat my skin dry and then generously apply this mask over my face. It`s very easy to smooth out the product, if not, just wet your fingers a little. The mask, when you first apply it, is a minty-green. After about 10-15 minutes of leaving this mask on, it will dry up and change to an almost white color with a hint of green. That`s usually how I know to wash this mask off.

OVERALL, I rate the Queen Helene Mint Julep Masque an A!
This is such an amazing mask that is incredibly inexpensive and works really well. I love using it to clear up my skin and help dry out my pimples and also to keep my pores clean. I highly recommend the Queen Helene Mint Julep Masque if you haven`t already tried it. I will definitely be repurchasing although I don`t think that I will have to anytime soon. I have had this tub for 2 years and I haven`t finished it yet!
