Hands-down, one of my favorite ever quads is the Maybelline Expert Wear Eye Shadow Quad in "Chai Latte".
Mine is dirty and gross as you can tell. It`s also been dropped many times to the point where the coppery bronze shade has been completely shattered so I had to use alcohol to fix it again haha.
One of the reasons why I love this quad is because it contains neutral colors (cannot get enough of them!) that are easy to wear on a day-to-day basis but this quad also contains elements that allows you to achieve a smoked out neutral look as well. Another reason why I love this quad is because the shadows are nicely pigmented and they blend well and are easy to work. Also, I love that there are a variety of textures of shadows in this particular quad. By that, I mean that there is a nice mix of a very light shimmery shade, a more intense metallic/shimmer shadow, and two matte shades of brown!
From the bottom left shadow going clockwise,
- The highlight shade is a light shimmery beige. I like applying this shade to my inner corners and sometimes underneath my brows. Out of all the shades, the highlight shade is my least favorite just because it`s not intensely pigmented. The shimmers are subdued and it`s somewhat chalky?
- The lid shade is a matte cool, brown. I really love using this shade in my crease to blend out with the rest of my shadows and to add definition to my crease. This shade also reminds me a lot of "Naked" eyeshadow from Urban Decay.
- The crease shade is a coppery-bronze shade that is also shimmery - but definitely more of an intense metallic-like shimmer than the highlight shade. I really love this shade and I think that this shade is definitely the most pigmented!
- The outer corner shade is a matte, chocolate brown. It`s great to use for the outer corners of your crease to add definition. Since it`s matte, I also sometimes use it as a shadow liner!
I highly recommend this "Chai Latte" quad by Maybelline, especially if you are starting out with makeup. The back of the product has little "instructions" on various looks that you can do with the shadow. It serves as a nice outline! I always tend to gravitate back to this quad whenever I want to do a neutral look or a coppery bronze look.
