Review: Maybelline Cover Stick

This is Maybelline`s Cover Stick concealer in the shade `Medium Beige`. Cost is about $5 at drugstores. This concealer only comes in 2 other shades which are Ivory and Light Beige. I will start off with the pros. The formula is rather thick so it provides medium to full coverage. Since its a stick, you can easily spot treat the specific blemish/sun spot/dark spot/scar that you may have. Since the tip is pointy (like a lipstick), it is really precise. I use it for 3 dark spots that I have on my face. I dab the product on the problem spot and pat it with my finger tips to even it out. Its super creamy and also buildable. I would say this is a heavy duty concealer. The packaging is so easy and convenient to use. Since you spot treat directly to the area, you dont waste any product. Unlike the Hard Candy Glamouflage where its a little runnier (its like oil based ??) and you have to put it on your fingertips first. Its waterproof so the product really stays on.

The cons is that there are only 3 color choices. My shade has a slight pink cast to it so its not the perfect match (it could be good if you`re warm toned). Since its so creamy and kind of thick, it doesnt spread that easily so it wouldnt be the best undereye dark circles. Since the skin is more fragile there, this concealer will tug at the skin when blending. Not meant for concealing larger areas like the cheeks or chin because it will look cakey. If you have super dry ski, this can be drying and look cakey too.

I prefer to use this on top of my foundation just to totally conceal the dark spots. Although there are cons, I still love this concealer and is one that I MUST reach for everyday. The full coverage is amazing and I really love the stick form. Its best to use on Specific spots. Doesnt work well if you have to spread much (light the under eye areas).
