Hi everyone! It`s been ages since I`ve written a review but now I finally have something that I can review for you. These are two products from Mario Badescu that I have been loving lately to deal with my acne.
Price & Availability - $17 - Available on the Mario Badescu website, Ulta, sometimes Hautelook, might also be at Nordstroms (I`ve never checked)
Packaging - Glass or plastic bottle - Either one comes with the same amount of product and are the same price
Scent - Smells medicinal I suppose
How to apply - DO NOT SHAKE - Take one end of a Q-Tip/cotton swab and dip it all the way through the yellow liquid (acne fighter) down into the pink substance (calamine lotion) on the bottom - Dab on problem areas
Pros - Pretty effective for small blemishes - Decreases inflammation - Relatively easy to use - Lasts a long time
Neutrals - Not as widely available as drugstore options - Pretty expensive compared to drugstore medications - Product rubs off while sleeping
Cons - None really
Overall I have tried a slew of acne products and I`m not quite willing to visit a dermatologist yet. This particular product works pretty well on smaller acne and really helps to decrease the inflammation and redness. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Price & Availability - $17 - Available at the same places as the Drying Lotion
Packaging - Plastic bottle with a tip similar to an eye drops bottle
Scent - None that I can remember
How to apply - YOU MUST SHAKE THIS PRODUCT BEFORE USING - I like to put this one on a clean finger and apply it my face
Pros - Works great for cystic acne - Lasts a relatively long time
Neutrals - Messy to use because it`s very liquidy - Not as easy to get as drugstore options - Also relatively expensive compared to drugstore products
Cons - None really
Overall I have been using this pretty much every night since I`ve gotten it and it has been a miracle worker for my skin. Cystic acne has plagued me for many years and after one cropped up and healed, another would take its place. When using this product the cystic acne has been greatly reduced, and those that have popped up have healed a lot more quickly with this product than if I was using something else. As far as which product I use more, I definitely use the Buffering Lotion more because the cystic acne is a bigger issue for me, but both of these products work great for me. If you`re hitting the wall when it comes to acne products, give these a try. Definitely get them from a place with a generous return policy in case they don`t work out for you.
Please keep in mind that everyone`s skin is different so your experience with this product may differ from mine, for better or worse. Thanks for reading! All images and content are my own.
