Review: MAC quotBlacktrackquot Fluidline

The product that I will be reviewing is the MAC Fluidline in "Blacktrack". This was the first MAC product that I ever purchased!

PRODUCT CLAIMS:
"Ultra-smooth, Fluidline`s gel formula provides the precision of a liquid liner with a silkier, softer finish. Goes on "foolproof" with a brush in an easy dip-and-stroke action. Long-wearing. Smudge-proof. Lines up in a rich array of colours and finishes."

You can purchase the MAC Fluidline at MAC freestanding stores, MAC counters in department stores, and online at the MAC website. Each Fluidline is $15 and you get 3 g / 0.1 oz of product.

The MAC Fluidline is held in a rounded glass pot. The lid then twists off and you have the product inside. I quite like the packaging. It`s simple and minimal. The glass pot, I think, is pretty sturdy as well and does a good job at preventing the product from drying out.

I heard a lot of great reviews about the MAC "Blacktrack" Fluidline when I first started getting into makeup and ended up purchasing it as my first ever MAC product. Prior to that, I was using a lot of pencil and liquid liners to line my eyes. Honestly, when I first got this product, I didn`t see what the hype was all about. I thought that the formula was somewhat thin and slippery and also that it wasn`t as black as I hoped it to be. So, I ended up putting it away and used it here and there but I never started using it on a regular basis until about a year later. The more I used the product, the more I liked the formula! I guess I just needed to break that initial product barrier. Now, I like that the formula of the "Blacktrack" Fluidline is thicker and darker as well. I simply use an angled liner brush to apply it with the Fluidline and I really like how I can control how thin or thick my liner is. Also, I love the precision it gives when I do my winged-liner! I`m not sure if this product is safe to use on your waterline, but I do use it on my waterline because I find that it is the only thing that ever really stays! Plus, it doesn`t irritate my eye whatsoever. I have had the same "Blacktrack" Fluidline for 2+ years now and I have found that mine has NOT dried out! Lately, I can tell that the liner is thickening up a little, but that`s fine because I am almost finishing it up any how. I really like the staying-power of this gel liner! I also find that it is versatile as well because I do sometimes use it as a black base when I am doing a more smoky look. You can also easily smudge the Fluidline out before the product sets in!

OVERALL, I rate the MAC Fluidline in "Blacktrack" an A!
I do highly recommend this for everyone who is looking for a gel liner. The MAC Fluidline in "Blacktrack" is really creamy with a pigmented formula. I really like how black the line is! What is even better is that it is a great liner that actually lasts on my top lashline, my bottom lashline, and even my waterline. Will I be repurchasing? Yes - eventually, but not anytime soon. Once I finish this, I want to get to finishing up my liners by Physicians Formula and I even want to try out the gel liners by e.l.f. and Wet N Wild!
