Hi everyone! It`s been a long time since I`ve written a review so here is one on the L`Oreal Colour Riche Le Balm in Caramel Comfort. If you missed my review on the shade Rose Elixir, please click /viz/review-loreal-le-balm-quotrose-elixirquot
Price & Availability - $7 to $9 depending on where you purchase - Available wherever L`Oreal products are sold
Shade & Finish - Caramel Comfort is a caramel brown shade with a nice sheen and no shimmer
Packaging - Similar to the Revlon Lip Butter products: the cap indicates the color of the product - Has a lock and key type of closure so the cap can only be put on one ay (picture 5) - I think the packaging looks very luxurious and sleek
Scent - It does have a light scent to it, but it`s not overpowering to me - I`m not very good with placing scents so I think it`s rose
Pros - Widely available - The shades in the range are all wearable - Very moisturizing - Caramel Comfort is more pigmented than the other shades I tried, but not by much
Neutrals - Expensive for a lip balm, but L`Oreal goes on sale frequently and there`s usually coupons to be found - There is not a lot of product for how much you pay (0.1 oz) - Because of its slick nature, it doesn`t stay on for very long
Cons - Not too pigmented on my lips, but may be different for those who don`t have very pigmented lips
Thoughts I was really excited to try these products because they came out around the same time as the Revlon Lip Butters, and they seemed to tout the same properties, so of course it would invite comparison. Compared to the Lip Butters, the L`Oreal Le Balm products are more moisturizing but less pigmented. These are definitely more along the lines of a tinted lip balm, while I feel the Lip Butters are more like creamy lipsticks. Caramel Comfort is one of the more pigmented shades of the bunch, so there is a brown tint to my lips, but it wasn`t incredibly noticeable so I decided not to keep it. You`ll also notice that I didn`t post any lip swatches and that is also because you could barely tell there was any products on my lips. The most noticeable aspect of this product was the shine it gave to my lips.
Overall For how much this product costs I would have expected it to be a bit more pigmented than it was. Even for as deeply discount was I bought mine ($4 a piece) this wasn`t worth keeping because of the lack of pigment and how much product you get. Thanks for reading! Have you tried this product?
