Review: L`Oreal Infallible Eyeshadow, quotContinuous Cocoaquot

Hi everyone! Here is another review on a L`Oreal Infallible eyeshadow I picked up a couple months ago. This is Continuous Cocoa and it is one of the permanent line shades in the collection. For my review on Iced Latte, please click /viz/review-loreal-infallible-eyeshadow-in-quoticed-lattequot For my review on Bronzed Taupe, please click /viz/review-loreal-infallible-eyeshadow-quotbronzed-taupequot
Price & Availability - $7 to $10 depending on where you buy it - Available wherever L`Oreal products are sold
Shade & Finish - Continuous Cocoa is a satin/matte dark chocolate brown
Packaging - Plastic jar and cap - Comes with a plastic stopper that says DO NOT DISCARD
Scent - None
How to apply - You can apply this with a brush or fingers, I tend to use my fingers more
Pros - Widely available - Blends nicely - Color is buildable
Neutrals - Expensive for a drugstore product (this line is supposedly a dupe for the Armani Eyes to Kill shadows, which retail for about $30, so these are cheap compared to those) - Color is not particularly unique - Shade is not as pigmented as the shimmery shades I have already reviewed
Cons - None really
Thoughts When these products came out, I was initially very hesitant to get them because I didn`t want to buy into the hype even though people compared these to the much more expensive Armani Eyes to Kill products. I ended up loving Iced Latte and Bronzed Taupe, but this particular shade I could do without in my collection. It is just a satin/matte chocolate brown, so it`s not a unique color, and it`s not nearly as pigmented or creamy as the shimmery shades in the line (which may be a consequence of it`s finish). Now, while it is not crazy pigmented, this can be an advantage for those of you who are heavy handed with your makeup application. Because you need a little bit more product to build up the intensity, you can gradually make the color darker if you need to. For dark colors I always feel it`s better to be slightly less pigmented because you can always add more as needed because taking away dark eye makeup is always more difficult. So it`s really just a matter of preference. If you look at the last picture that is posted, that is Continuous Cocoa on the bottom and Bronzed Taupe next to it, with the same amount of swatch. For swatches, I tend to rub my finger in a set amount of times across a product and wipe on my arm with the same pressure so that pigmentation can be compared. You can tell that Continuous Cocoa is not nearly as pigmented as Bronzed Taupe or even Iced Latte that`s on the top.
Overall While I do like the other shades of Infallible shadows I have reviewed, this one isn`t a stand out shade to me. I`d only get this if a) you`re looking for a lightly pigmented brown for whatever reason b) you need/want to collect all the shades Thank you for reading! Have you tried any of these shades yet? What did you think of them? All images and content are my own. Please do not use or take without permission. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
