in my July julep maven box, which I switched around because I specifically wanted to try out the julep glosses I received the lip vernis in the shade Peony.
it looks super pretty doesn`t it ?? it`s described as a nude blush creme which I`d have to say is pretty accurate, I also think it`s a little dusty pink wouldn`t you say ? so on to the review
to me, this is way too much for just .25 oz of product, it`s not so mind blowing amazing to warrant such a big price tag
on my highly pigmented lips, it looks like any lipgloss I could pick up from a drugstore for 1/2 the price. you can barely see the beautiful shade which you can see on the swatches, this particular color is not ideal for pigmented lips. it is in fact a creme finish, when I blanked out my lips with foundation you can see it pooling on my lip lines and it looks quite pale, not very peachy at all. over lipstick it`s nothing spectacular either, just a lip gloss
this gloss has a brush applicator, which I don`t have a problem with, except for the fact that mine is cockeyed, it has a couple of hairs that stick out no matter what I do and omg, it makes application not fun at all lol I will most definitely be cutting those down, I hope it won`t affect it too much
I have Mac glosses, not my favorite but I have some that look similar to this and just look better. are these glosses worth the price? they`re very pretty, I like the packaging, in fact it`s reminiscent of the Edward Bess ones which I`m dying to try out, they smell like the Mac ones I`d say but are no different in quality to say revlon or rimmel even. I can not possible tell you guys that these are must have because they`re not, at least not this shade. I don`t hate it, I really don`t, it`s a nice gloss, I`m glad I got to try it and if there`s another box with a gloss option I`d probably get it but I wouldn`t pay full price for one.
