With so many rumours about the 3 releasing soon, I thought it might be a good time to (finally) do a review on my iPad 2. I have owned it since last March so know it pretty well.
I brought mine from Tesco (online) as a Pay as you go device. The RRP is £399 for the 16GB non 3G version, but I received additional discounts since I have a family member who works at Tesco. In the end I paid around £330 after discounts were taken off. This is a pretty good deal for a branded tablet. Yes there are cheaper alternatives but products last a very long time (in my experience so far) and are usually the best in their field.
The iPad 2 has a good quality rear facing camera that is capable of taking clear photos with accurate colour and light settings. It can also take HD video recordings. This was an additional feature as the original iPad has no cameras at all. iPad 2 also has a front facing camera that is only VG quality but is perfectly fine for FaceTime.
I love the design and shape of the iPad 2. Its fairly slim with smooth ends that makes holding the device comfortable. It comes in black or white colour, both of which look sleek and clean.
The actual tablet is great for browsing the Internet using Safari, checking e-mails on the go, taking notes etc. I feel that it will benefit business people, students and other professional groups of people a lot. The iPad 2 is a great medium for using in various professional settings and is much more user friendly than net-books. The interface is a delight to use and makes the experience of using an iPad 2 an enjoyable one. The touch screen is accurate/swift and allows the user to have great control of what and how they view the content.
Overall I love my iPad 2 and have definitely gotten my money`s worth of use from it. I probably won`t be upgrading to the iPad 3 as I feel that this is sufficient to meet my daily technology needs.
Do you own the iPad 2? Will you be upgrading to the new version when it releases?
