REVIEW: Hourglass Mineral Veil Primer

*Pictures are mine.

I bought this product about a month ago while I was on vacation in New York. I head lots of good things about this product and I`ve also seen it being raved a lot in the youtube world so I really wanted to try this out. I`m a huge fan of anything primer related that helps minimize pores and make your foundation go on flawlessly. I have really big pores around my nose and in my T zone so I`m always on the hunt for something to help minimize that.

I picked up the travel size because the full size was $52.00 and the travel size was $18.00 and I wanted to test try it before I wanted to get the full size. The travel size is 0.33 oz which I think is a lot because a little dab of this stuff goes a really long way. This claims to be a mineral based and water resistant primer with SPF 15 that minimizes shine and creates a smooth application for flawless foundation. It is also formulated without parabens, sulfates, and pathalates. This also claims to help keep makeup looking fresh without fading and absorb excess oils and minimize the appearance of pores and soften skin of any imperfections and fine lines. It is also oil, fragrance, and gluten free. The best part it comes with a pump! Haha I love products that come with a pump. I just feel like its so much more sanitary, easy and just more clean to work with.

My Review:
I`ve had this for over a month now and I hate to say it, I just don`t see the hype about it which is SO disappointing to me because I wanted to love it. I see though where it really does provide an awesome base for your foundation to help it look flawless. It really does help my foundation stay on and not look cakey. I also see where it minimizes my pores but by barely. I can still see my pores which is super irritating lol. The formula itself is a white liquid to powder texture. It almost feels like its going to be to greasy but it goes nicely onto the skin and it doesn`t make me oily at all. I have super oily skin and i feel this really helps with my shine and oil control and like I said before, a little goes a long way. You only need a pea size amount and thats what I use on my T zone. I just really wished it would minimize my insanely large pores... they are no joke lol.
I feel like I gave it super high expectations because of all the hype and maybe that`s why I feel so disappointed. I probably will not buy the full size and go back to my smashbox photoready primer. Overall I think this is a really great product for help keeping control of excess oil and shine. It also really gives you a beautiful base for your foundation and helps it look really nice and fresh. I still have some product left so I`m going to still use it and give another chance because I really do want to love this product.

I hope this helped anyone who is interested in trying this product!
Thank you for reading!
