Review: Holika Holika Magic Shield Sun Base

Holika Holika is a new Korean brand of skin care and makeup company that is advertises the use of natural ingredients and plant extracts, much like Skinfood.

There were actually a store for the brand at Pacific Mall so I decided to check it out.

I bought this UV Magic Shield UV Base cream from them as I needed a new BB cream and I wanted something more sheer. I wanted to go with base cream as it ordered very little coverage but still helped to even out the skin tone. I don`t have anything to hide but I do have some skin tone differences.

This one has a slight pink undertone to it.

SPF 45 helps protect sun from UVA and UVB rays
Very cheap, only $19 a bottle, I was used to paying $30 - $50 for a bottle of sun screen
Pink undertones help hide a bit of imperfection in the skin

Smells heavily like sun screen
Gets greasy after an hour
Made my skin break out a bit if I don`t wash it off after half a day

Overall, for a base cream or even facial sun screen, this was a terrible product. It was way too greasy to put on your face and it caused me to break out if I didn`t keep washing it off and re-applying.

I started using this as body sun screen even though it`s supposed to be a base cream for foundation.

I don`t think I`ll try this brand anymore.

Hope that helped!
