REVIEW: Gosh Darling lipstick

I have been on the look out for a nice nude lipstick. Something I can wear on days when I decide (or learn) to wear smokey eyes. A friend have told me that a certain Gosh lipstick seems to be popular, but it was only sold in the UK. So when my cousin, who happened to be visiting the UK, asked me if I wanted something from there and she`ll get it for me as a gift, I opted to try a couple of Gosh items: the Gosh lipstick in Darling, and Gosh Waterproof Velvet Touch Eye Liner in Black Ink and Truly Brown.

- applies smoothly
- nice black sleek packaging
- does not have a weird smell
- didn`t dry out my lips.

- way too pale for my skin tone (NC30/35 in MAC)
- very unflattering

Thoughts: This looked like a very nice nude. I was so excited to try this when I first got it, and was disappointed how it made me look zombie-ish! You know, the kind of pale lips you get when you`ve been out in the cold for awhile? But at that time, I wasn`t wearing ANY makeup. So I figured maybe I just got way too excited that I just put it on as soon as I got it. To give it another shot, I tried it with some pretty dark eyes. UGH! It still looked way too pale for my skin tone, but when I paired it with a tinted gloss, it looked slightly better. But simply not good enough for me.

My Verdict: For me, nothing about this lipstick was worth keeping. I don`t like giving ugly remarks, but this is simply a fail to me. =( So I gave it to my younger cousin, who quite likes it (she has lighter skin than I do, maybe about an NC20). So if you`re around that skin tone, maybe this will work for you as well.

Do you guys have a nude lipstick you`re loving?
