Recently I picked up this E.L.F. Studio Eye Primer & Liner Sealer from Meijer (yes, Meijer!) for $3. Someone soon after requested that I do a review on it, so....here it is!
This is a 2-in-1 product, so half of it is supposed to seal on your eyeliner, and the other part is supposed to prime your eyes for eyeshadow. I have very mixed feelings about this product. I don`t love or hate it.
First off, the eye primer side is a retractable stick type of thing. The product itself is cream and you get a really decent amount of it. I like that it isn`t oily at all and also blends quite nicely. Unfortunately, it does settle into fine lines like crazy and creases after an hour or so, probably because it IS cream based. I feel like it doesn`t make my eye shadow more vibrant or make it stay on any longer.
As for the eyeliner sealer, this one is tricky. Instead of the applicator being a brush, it`s like a hard, pointed, felt-tip sort of thing. The product itself is clear and thin in consistency, and you cannot see it at all once it dries. I found this difficult to use. I tried it out with a liquid eyeliner I have that rubs off if you even look at it the wrong way (L`Oreal Carbon Black Lineur Intense!), and it both helped and hurt it. I tried first applying it over the liner, but since it is a hard tip, it wipes the liner right off. Then I tried just tapping it on in sections instead of swiping, and that worked a little bit better but still took off a bit of liner, but once it was dry that liner wasn`t budging! Then, I tried to apply it under the liner, and this also made it stay in place pretty well! (For reference, I tried these both on the back of my hand side-by-side and I was rubbing them with my fingers firmly). BUT, I found that by applying this before liquid eyeliner, it did make it feather out some :( And yes, I did wait for the liner sealer to completely dry first.
Overall, this product is just ok. I probably won`t repurchase it though. The primer kind of sucks, but the liner sealer itself it a good product, just so darn difficult to apply! xox
