The product that I will be reviewing today is the CoverGirl Smoothers Aqua Tinted Moisturizer SPF 15.
"Lightweight moisturizers with a wash of sheer color give skin a healthy glow. Skin feels soft, looks smooth!"
- Oil free, 100% PABA and fragrance free
- Won`t clog pores
I purchased this product a while back so I`m not sure what the price is, but I imagine that it is sold around $4-7 at various drugstores, Walmart, Target, and Ulta.
The product is in a standard plastic tube with a twist-off cap. Now that I am finishing up the product, it is getting a bit harder to get the tinted moisturizer out.
I first purchased this product a few years back when I first started getting into makeup and wanted to try out many different kinds of tinted moisturizers. This was one of the ones that I found available at the drugstore. Mine is in the shade "810 - Light to Medium". I like that this tinted moisturizer has SPF 15. One thing that I did not like about this tinted moisturizer was that the shade range that I had picked out did not suite me. It is too beige and once applied on my face, it looks sort of pink on my skin with yellow undertones. Another thing that I did not originally like about this tinted moisturizer when I first tried it years ago was that there is pretty much no coverage! This summer has been so hot that I busted this product out to try again. Now, I sort of like the smooth, lightweight feel of the product. It is extremely easy to blend into the skin! However, I get almost no coverage with just one layer so I do use two layers of this tinted moisturizer to get the coverage that I want. You do get less coverage applying this product with your hand rather than applying it with a brush, such as the Sigma F80 flat-top kabuki brush! After applying this tinted moisturizer, I prefer to let it sit on my skin for a few minutes before applying a face powder. I need to set this otherwise, it will slip around and transfer in this hot weather.
OVERALL, I rate the CoverGirl Smoothers Aqua Tinted Moisturizer SPF 15 a C
I do not recommend this shade range of "810 - Light to Medium" for people with yellow undertones because this has pink undertones! While I liked the blendability of the tinted moisturizer and how comfortable it felt on my skin, I would have preferred it to have a little more coverage. Other than that, I think that it does give the skin a nice, dewy finish if that is what you are looking for.
