Review: Covergirl Outlast 3 in 1 Foundation

Cost: $12.97 at Walmart
The Covergirl Outlast Stay Fabulous 3-in-1 Foundation is a life changer for me. I always believed that higher end foundations were the way to go but trying this one makes me want to try more drugstore foundations! This is the first Covergirl foundation Ive tried since high school (which was over a decade ago) but I must say Im impressed with the product. I received a $2 coupon for Covergirl through the mail and that was enough motivation for me to try something new. After reading some rave reviews on this, I decided to try it out.

The website claims All-in-one foundation with a long-lasting formula that fuses primer, concealer, and foundation in one easy step! The 3-in-1 formula provides a flawless look that lasts all day long. Do I think it does all that? Read on.

Primer: I need a foundation to stay on at least 12 hours per day and this foundation lasts relatively well. With this product, I needed a couple of touch ups during the day to curb my natural shine but other than that, it seemed to stay on. My biggest skin problem is my large pores and the Covergirl Outlast Stay Fabulous 3-in-1 Foundation did not seem to settle into my pores. But did it hide it all? No, Im still looking for a foundation that does. Like I said very LARGE pores!
Note: I still use Benefit Porefessional on my nose underneath this foundation but in comparison to other foundations, this foundation hid my pores surprisingly well.

Concealer: I think this foundation gives a medium to full coverage but I dont think its sufficient to use in lieu of an actual concealer. I would still use a concealer for my undereye circles and around my nose. It also doesn`t provide enough coverage to cover my freckles. However, Im okay with my freckles so I dont normally put extra concealer to cover it. I just like them blurred and not have it as a prominent feature on my face, which this foundation does. I dont have any acne at this time so I cant speak to that.

Foundation: I put this foundation on with a beauty blender dupe and then set it with a powder. It seems to last and performs just as well as a high end foundations on me. I read in some reviews that this product oxidizes but it didnt seem to have that effect on me. I picked Classic Ivory (810), which seemed to have a slight yellow undertone and it settled quite nicely. If it did oxidize, its only a bit and I think it just warmed up my skin tone. This foundation has a satin matte finish but it doesnt control my oil as well as I would like. My oil started to seep through after a few hours. Im happy that it has SPF 20 so that I can skip a layer to put on my face! Great time saver!

Conclusion: I like this foundation and Im surprised that it performed as well as it did. I have been using this foundation more than the other ones I have, even more than my higher end foundations. This has become a good reliable foundation for me at this time. Like I said, Im impressed with this foundation and the price is amazing for the quality! I would like to try more drug store foundations. Any suggestions?
