Recently I went to Ulta to buy a few things and posted up a haul. (To see the haul, click /viz/haul-ulta-target-cvs ) I bought 3 lipsticks from Ulta because they are all on sale for $2 a piece, from the original price of $8. I`ve never tried any Ulta products before, but I`ve been really big on lipsticks/ lip products lately...I can`t stop buying them! lol Luckily, Ulta has testers for each lipstick they have so I was able to swatch the lipsticks on my hand before purchasing. I was surprised how smooth they went on my hand and so I definitely had to purchase some. They have a lottttt of colors to choose from, but I usually go with the same colors...always in the pink category. lol I`ve only had them for a few days but I`ve been wearing them since I got them and really love them. I`m surprised they don`t get much credit in the beauty world. They are super smooth to put on and pretty hydrating. They have 3 formulas: sheer, shimmer & cream. I happened to buy a color from each formula. -
#207 Just Peachy (shimmer) I`ve been on the search for a nice coral lipstick that isn`t too orange lately. When I swatched this color on my hand, I immediately loved it. It`s a peachy/coral color with very small shimmer. It`s slightly sheer but the color an build up. I usually don`t like shimmer in my lipsticks, but you can`t really tell it has any because the shimmer is so small. -
#237 Precious Pink (sheer) Although this lipstick is in the sheer formula, the color payoff is pretty good. You can definitely build up the color. This is sort of a pinky version of a your-lips-but-better color. It`s a pinky mauve color. This is definitely a color I could wear everyday. -
#239 Coming Up Roses (cream) Since this is in the cream formulation it is the most pigmented out of the 3 I bought. When I first swatched it, I thought it looked like one of my favorite lip colors -- Wet n Wild`s lipstick in 907C. The problem I have with the Wet n Wild lipstick is that it`s very drying and so since I thought this color was close to it, I bought it because it went on my hand so smoothly. When I swatched the two colors at home, I found out that they aren`t totally the same but if you love 907C then you will love this color. It`s a bright pink color with a slight hint of lilac/purple. They all have the same scent, which is a sweet almost fruity smell. There is no taste to them. The packaging is very sturdy -- it`s a metal case, therefore your fingerprints are left on them constantly. They also don`t have the color names on the lipstick itself, just the color number. The staying power is pretty standard. I`ve eaten with it on and still had some lipstick on my lips afterwards. But it does tend to transfer easily onto straws, cups, forks and any other thing you put your lips on. lol After I tried them on for the first couple times, I went on the Ulta website to see some more info on them. They have Shea Butter and Hyaluronic Fulling Spheres to provide moisturization and to fill in lip lines and wrinkles for a smooth pout. After reading that sentence from the Ulta website (link provided below in source link) I realized that my lips do look nice and smooth when I wear these lipsticks and they really do keep my lips moisturized. Overall, I am VERY pleased with these. I am definitely planning to buy backups of these colors and some more because I read on someone`s blog that they are going to change their whole line of makeup. They are on sale for $2 in stores and online right now...definitely worth it! (I swatched the color #225 In the Buff in stores and fell in love with it but they were sold out, if anybody finds it in stock please pick one up for me! :) ) I haven`t tried any other Ulta products before but since I really like these lipsticks I might give there other products a try. Anybody tried anything from the Ulta line that they liked?? **all photos are mine**
