At the time I bought this, I was an avid fan of Michelle Phan. She always raved that this was her favorite concealer. I just thought I`d give it a try since many others agreed with her. So I stopped by Sephora to grab one and decided that Medium Beige Light was my color match (also per the suggestion of the Sephora Sales Associate. She was raving that this product really IS amazing, hence the name).
From the Sephora website, the AmazingConcealer is formulated to erase all skin imperfections: dark circles, broken capillaries, sun damage, blemishes, redness and more. There`s nothing on the market today that can compare to the AmazingConcealer and its ability to erase all skin imperfections. Unlike traditional concealers, the AmazingConcealer is so concentrated, you only need to use tiny pin-dot amounts of product to create the skin you`ve always wanted but thought you could never have. A beauty insider`s favorite, the AmazingConcealer is your "magic eraser."
- not hard to blend
- cannot find a matching shade (I think I went back to Sephora at least 3 times but it always ends up looking sorta greyish)
- settles into the fine lines under my eyes (regardless if I used a brush or just patting it with my fingers)
- has no lasting power on me (I ended up carrying this in my purse because I had to reapply throughout the day)
- a little too thick for my taste
- can be drying for the skin (despite the creamy consistency, this gets really dry that it would flake throughout the day. Not cute)
Thoughts: For the longest time, I thought this thing matched my skin tone and the foundation I was using. But one day, my boyfriend (who never says anything about my makeup) says that my skin looks weird and uneven. So I thought I needed to change my foundation and I went into this massive hunt for foundations in different brands (both high-end and drugstore). But he still said my face looks weird. When I was at my wits end, I finally decided to change my concealer instead and went back to using my MAC studio finish. Then he said everything looks good again. That was when I realized that this concealer was giving me a weird color cast. Even when I went back to Sephora to exchange it for different shades, it still was not working out.
My Verdict: Sorry, but I find absolutely nothing that`s good about this product. Although it is creamy, it really doesn`t do anything for me. I will NOT be repurchasing.
Have any of you tried this concealer, too?
What are your thoughts?
