Today I`l be reviewing Nivea`s Refreshing Cleansing Wipes. Now before I purchased these, I never really used cleansing wipes or makeup remover wipes. To remove makeup, I would just wash my face with a cleanser lol. However when I purchased some foundation and concealer on my birthday, I realized that cleansing on its own wouldn`t be enough.
These were on sale when I bought them for 7.99. I forgot what the original price were lol, but I thought it was a pretty good deal so I snagged one up. There are 25 wipes in a pack, which was the average amount of wipes per pack in all of the other brands of wipes that I saw so that`s why I got them lol.
The packaging is just a little plastic bag with a resealable sticker cover. I was a little apprehensive about the cover and how effective the seal is. I left the pack open accidentally a couple of times but the wipes didn`t try out.
These wipes have two different sides; a smooth side and a textured side. The textured side has slightly raised bumps which are good for removing more difficult makeup. These also have a very pleasant and fresh smell. They aren`t very moist, but they aren`t totally dry either. However, because of the slightly dry aspect, I think it calls for a need to be a little more rough and scrub the makeup off more instead of just wiping.
Now, do these live up to its claims? On the package, it says it removes makeup and waterproof mascara. From my experience, it does remove my eye makeup (eyeshadow and mascara) as well as concealer. I don`t know about waterproof mascara because I don`t wear it. As for `refreshing`, I really do think it`s quite a refreshing wipe. The smell is very fresh and clean, and my skin always feels very nice and clean after I use a wipe.
If you typically don`t wear a lot of makeup daily, I`d recommend these wipes. They are pretty gentle but you might have to layer on another makeup removing liquid for more heavy eye makeup. Try snagging a pack when they`re on sale.
