( COPIED AND PASTED )
From the day November 26, 2011 we have followed closely the possible nominees and winners of the Oscars in 2012, on our Facebook page with the heading "The path of the Oscars ... or not." We wanted to make known to our readers what the world said about the films that marked the season of awards (some of them were then on the way). We end this coverage with exposure of the prediction of nominees in the next ceremony of the Academy (again, on our Facebook page). Once revealed the nominations for Oscars, left to take stock. What films were nominated? The forecasts were close to the actual appointed? What are the films that leave for the ceremony in front of the 26th of February?
Now let`s first accounts. Predictions were made for 21 categories, which were indicated in 103 possible nominees. After the revelation of the Oscars nominations for actress Jennifer Lawrence and the president of the Academy, we can conclude that, except for best actor (where the actor appears Demián Bichir appointed by the movie "A Better Life" - a movie that will launch in Portugal only on DVD), all the films nominated in major categories (best film, performance, representations and argument) and the majority of techniques (Jane Eyre, best wardrobe is an exception) have been referenced in "The path of the Oscars ... or not. " And turning to the numbers, 73 of the nominees for Oscars coincided with our predictions for a total of 70.9% of indications settled. This percentage could have been higher, but some surprises mainly in the category of best animated film, best film and best documentary, prevented such failure.
How well have been announcing the candidates for golden statuettes are well delineated. "The Artist" is the movie of the moment and has the highest probability of being acclaimed as the best film of the year (his 10 appointments are an indicator that at least five Oscars are this silent film). "The Invention of Hugo" part with 11 nominations (most of them of a technical nature) that put Martin Scorsese at the top of the preferences for best director (or "The Invention of Hugo" won many awards and is liable to leave the ceremony as the Main defeated the night).
The fight for the Oscar for best actor will give certainly among Jean Dujardin and George Clooney (for "The Artist" and "The Descendants" respectively). In terms of actresses Viola Davis in "The Servants", Meryl Streep and her "Iron Lady" and Michelle Williams in the movie "My Week With Marilyn" will compete for the prize lady of the night.
The Oscar for supporting actor is already being delivered to Christopher Plummer who still hesitate actresses in doubt between Octavia Spencer and Jessica Chastain as "The Servants" and Berenice Bejo (in "The Artist"). The Oscar for original screenplay will go into the hands of Woody Allen ("Midnight in Paris") or Michel Hazanavicius ("The Artist"). On the other hand, best adapted screenplay in the dispute is more uncertain and "The Descent", "The Invention of Hugo" or "Moneybal - Play Risk" will win.
The die is cast. Therefore, be sure to follow us and do not miss our coverage to the biggest night film of the year!
