As I mentioned in my last Reebok post, I`ve spent the last few months incorporating Crossfit into my workout routine. I have fallen in love with the program I am in, and find myself going 5 times a week. The location I go to (Crossfit Illumine located in Niles, IL) is starting their strength challenge soon, which involves lifting and other body strengthening skills such as squats and jumps.
Adding weight lifting into your workout routine is important if you want to tone up and burn fat. And with weight lifting, good form is key to avoid injury. You want to make the most of your workout, so making sure you keep your back straight and heels down is important.
So why not just lift in regular shoes? Well a lot of people do just use regular gym shoes to lift in. However, these shoes will help me make sure I am keeping my heels down more when I add heavier weights. Coming up on your toes is a no-no in crossfit, and the lifts on these shoes will help give me a little more stability.
They are extremely lightweight for having that added bit on the heels. And the Reebok u-form fit gives the shoes a more custom fit.
I love the shade I picked out, and am definitely more excited for my strength challenge.
