After I had sworn lip butters off, I ended up giving them a try while they were on sale and found I really did like them as long as I had the right colors to suit my skin tone! My lips are rather pigmented on their own, so anything that doesn`t translate to be a shade or two darker/brighter just looks like I am wearing a shiny chapstick. Anyway! By the time I decided I wanted to hunt down Red Velvet I could NOT for the life of me find it ANYWHERE. I hunted high and low, popping into pharmacies, stores, etc, and all were sold out. Finally weeks later I spotted it at Walmart and home it came with me. I swatched it as soon as I got home and OH MY! It was love at first swipe. It was SO pigmented, gorgeous, a deep dark red. A deep, dark red I have never truly worn on my lips before. I have never worn red on my lips, but I wanted to wear this red and I love, love, LOVE this shade. The color is truly pigmented, it`s creamy and the color pay off is pretty straight forward. Even though this product is a "lip butter" and is creamy in nature, it is not a chapstick replacement. Your lips should be naturally hydrated before applying this product or it may make your lips look a little crazy. Overall, I completely LOVE this product and am so glad I was finally able to spot it and pick it up. From my personal opinion this is a great shade to wear when you`re sporting a natural, neutral smoky eye -- it gives you a nice pop of color.
Have you tried any lip butters? If so, what`s your favorite shade?
