Are you in the market for a good, light hearted read? Do you enjoy books that entertain you? Do you like laughing out loud, in public while reading and having people turn to see whose laughing? Haha, okay, so maybe the third one may be a tad embarrassing, but I have done it on a number of occasions while reading this series of books by Janet Evanovich. I would have never known about this series if it wasnt for my godmother introducing me to them years ago and Ive been hooked to reading these ever since.
The book series starts with One for the Money which is now a motion picture, with Katherine Heigl staring as Stephanie Plum. There are now 18 books in this series but please dont let that number immediately turn you off. The books are lighthearted reading and you can breeze through 50 pages in the blink of an eye. You dont have to run out and purchase 1 through 18, you can rent one at the library and see if its your cup of tea and/or something youd enjoy. The titles in this series are: One for the Money, Two for the Dough,Three to Get Deadly, Four to Score, High Five, Hot Six, Seven Up, Hard Eight, To the Nines, Ten Big Ones, Eleven on Top, Twelve Sharp, Lean Mean Thirteen, Fearless Fourteen, Finger Lickin Fifteen, Sizzling Sixteen, Smokin Seventeen, and Explosive Eighteen .
The series centers around Stephanie Plum, who is a bounty hunter, and well, not a very good one. She works for her cousin, Vinny, who runs the bounty hunter business and upon going after her FTAs (failure to appear in court) she tends to run into trouble. Lots of it ranging from naked captures, cars blowing up, dead people, etc. She has a sidekick, Lula, who is an overweight African American woman, who loves spandex, stiletto heels, HATES to be called fat, oh and she used to be a ho back in the day. Stephanies love life is an interesting one because there are two men who appeal to her interest Joe Morelli and Ranger Manoso. Both men have their pros while both also have their cons. There is a ton more that happens in each and every book and I swear they get funnier and funnier as you read them.
Im currently reading Explosive Eighteen right now and I havent been able to put it down. Im 1/3 of the way done and will most likely be through the book before the middle of next week (that is if I dont read the entire thing during the Superbowl LOL).
