I finally used this Real Techniques brush set I have bought from Ulta and am ready to give my review on these brushes.
This set retails for $17.99 and comes with 4 brushes. You can find this at Ulta. Other stores carry Real Techniques brushes but not all stores carry the sets.
This set comes with a contour brush, a pointed foundation brush, a detailed brush, and a powder brush.
Pros of this set:
The bristles on the brushes are really soft. It`s not scratchy at all. The handles are a orange color while the end of it is rubber textured. It also comes with a case where you can store your brushes for travel. It can also be made into a stand for your brushes.
The powder brush in this set is really soft and fear for apply a light application of powder foundation or used to set your foundation.
The contour brush is great for applying contour to the hollows of your cheeks. This was the main reason for me purchasing this set.
This set is great for those who are starting to build on their brush collection.
Not a great set for those that already have most if not similar brushes for the price.
The pointed foundation brush is too small to be used as a all over face brush. In my opinion it`s better used for applying concealer.
The detailed brush is particularly useless if you plan on not doing precise detail work. What I recommend you use this brush for is to apply lipstick or eye shadow to the inner corner of the eyes. I rarely apply shadow to my inner corner and I don`t need a brush to apply lipstick, so for me this brush is useless. But you can also use this to apply cream shadow or loose pigments.
The contour brush in this set is not sold individually.
So all in all, I would not buy this brush set again and I wouldn`t recommend this for those who already have most of these brushes in their brush collection.
The only reason why I wanted this set was for the contour brush only because I didn`t have one and read great reviews on it with which I agree with. It`s a great contour brush. It can also be used to apply blush. I just wish that Real Techniques would sell the contour brush individually. I would like to purchase another contour brush but am not willing to shell out another $18 for the whole set.
Does anyone own this set and which one is your favorite? Would you purchase this set again?
