After using Bareminerals for YEARS, my bestfriend and I heard from a makeup artist how bad it actually was for some people`s skin. Something about the Talc Powder in it. That, and the boar`s hair bristles harbor a lot of bacteria and scratch your face microscopically-leading to wrinkle in the long run. what got me was the bacteria bit even though I washed my brushes regularly. Honestly, it didn`t quite match my skin either, and I didn`t notice until I tried TooFaced Cream foundation, and foundation powder. TooFaced was an exact match.
I was intrigued and decided to give the new system a go. It was kind of pricey, but well worth it. I USED to use bare minerals foundation powder and mineral veil on top, but i would be blotting hours later, and it wasn`t as covering as I wanted.
I`ve always shied away from cream foundations since they look so thick, feel awful, and just seemed like too much on my face. Toofaced was a GREAT surprise. It wasn`t as heavy as I thought, and I didn`t need that much, that big bottle is going to last me awhile. Applying the foundation with the brush pictured above was KEY in getting a flawless skin look. I`ve tried using a make up sponge to apply the cream, and it looks streaky and awful. Then, using the same brush, follow up with the foundation powder on top to set. I LOVE it. I only use the cream foundation when I need some serious make up, but it looks well polished hours later. The powder is great for day to day use if I`m not using tinted moisturizer, and I DON`T need a mineral veil on top to stop the oily look.
BEST part: well for a clean freak like me: the brush is synthetic so all you need to do is fill a spray bottle with some drug store alcohol, and spray the brush down and wipe clean with a towel. yay, no bacteria!
