Calling all "Hunger Games" fans! The town in which the film "The Hunger Games" was filmed in is currently up for sale. So, if you`re a big enough fan, and you have that kind of pocket change, you can personally own District 12!
The town is in North Carolina and it covers 72 acres. It`s about an hour and a half drive from Charlotte. Yes, this little stretch of property was used to film scenes in District 12, the district the book and film`s heroine, Katniss Everdeen, lives in.
If you`re wondering how you can purchase a plot of property like this, it is because the last living resident moved out in 1987 and has been abandoned since. The owner of the property is trying to profit off of all the film`s hype and wants to sell the lot ASAP. The asking price? $1.4 million. Yes, that price is steep, but if you`re a die-hard fanatic, I don`t see any harm in it. Kidding, of course.
It seems a lot of fans have already visited the property. The owner feels bombarded by all the people driving by, visiting, and taking pictures. So why not make a little money for all the trouble he`s being put through?
And hey, I`m interested in seeing who is a big enough fanatic to actually purchase the property. If it were me, I would start to charge people for visiting.. even if it`s just $1 a person, I think I could make a little money from the venture. And of course, I can hire tour groups or build mazes and all that for fans to get the real-life "Hunger Games" experience. Hahaha.
