Vitamin String Quartet is a HUGE (not by number, but by awesomeness) string quartet that does so many covers of different songs by different bands across all of the different genres of music. I came across them by accident a year or so ago and they really are amazing!
They have a nearly cult-like following. They`re always uploading their covers to youtube (over 700 of them now) and have A LOT of their covers in itunes.
I do have a lot of favorites from them like "Buddy Holly" from weezer, "Please, Please, Please, Let Me Get What I Want" The Smiths, "Heart Shaped Box" and "Come As You Are" from Nirvana, and a few others, but "Pumped Up Kicks" may now be up closer to the top of the list.
Maybe it`s because I played the Violin for a few years when I was little, or was in the woodwind section of orchestral bands for years and years and thought I wanted to do it for a living, but I LOOOVE listening to string covers and Vitamin String Quartet is the BEST!
What do you think of string covers of songs?
