When this movie first came out, it was announced like a documentary, so I didn`t know what to expect when I went to watch it.
It basically tells the story of a photographer that meets a young girl on Facebook when she makes a painting based on one of his photos... He liked the painting and started to talk with the little girl. Then, things evolved and he started to talk also with her mother and her older sister. They start to know each other and he ends up on a relation based on cellphone calls, with the older sister. One day, he starts to suspect that something`s wrong and decides to go on a trip to meet his "girlfriend" and her family. But when he arrives to destination, nothing was like he thought they where. He finds that it was just a big lie...
This is kind of shocking and really makes you think about the way that internet has influenced the way how people see themselves and the others.
After the movie that supposedly was a documentary, I look for more information and the producer still says that this is really a documentary that was filmed with the camera of that man that is the main actor... But it is just one of those movies like "Paranormal Activity" where they pretend to make us think that it was really a documentary and not a movie.
I really liked the movie, it really opens your eyes for a reality that comes with internet and affects a lot of people everyday...
I give it a 7.5 out of 10.
Do you know this movie? Have you ever been a victim of this kind of situations?
