Wanted to share with all of you my purple manicure I`ve been wearing recently. I decided to take 2 of the polishes from my recent Maybelline Colour Show haul and wear they together in my usual mix and match style.
I love wearing a different colour on my ring finger than the rest of my mani. The trick is, I try to pick polishes that are similar in one aspect or another to make sure they will look good together. In this case, I picked polishes that are both cool purple shades and even though one has a sort of `jelly` finish and the other one is a creme, they work.
The shade on my ring finger is Iced Queen. It`s is a creme Lavender shade and applied beautifully! Not my normal sort of colour to be honest, but it`s a great accent.
The rest of my nails are in Fuschia Fever. Looking at the bottle, I wouldn`t really call this colour fuschia (to me fuschia is much more pink). However, the colour is really sheer so the first coat did look much more pink than purple. I added a few more coats, since I didn`t like the sheerness of it but it was very difficult to get an even colour. The sheer look reminded me of those `jelly` polishes which I don`t really like since they are difficult to work with. In the light, you can see bare spots on my nail even after 4 coats! After wearing it for a few days, Iced Queen looks flawless, but the other nails have some tip wear and chipping so its not even lasting as long. I think this is the first Colour Show polish I have been disappointed with. Not a fan of this shade, and I wouldn`t recommend it.
BUT, despite the issues with Fuschia Fever, I still really like the colour combo, and got a few compliment on my mani as well :)
