Purple and Teal Zebra nail art
Like a lot of people, I have started experimenting more and more with nail art, so I was out to create a zebra stripe look. But instead of the typical black and white, I wanted to amp it up with some colour.
I decided to paint my nails a deep purple-y magenta colour from Color Club and chose a contrasting teal colour from Sally Hansen for the zebra stripes. I actually painted my nails the purple the first night and added the stripes to second night to make sure the first layer was completely dry before starting the design :P
I recently posted on a haul of nail art supplies from eBay, which I used for this look, but I actually mostly did this nail look using a few toothpicks. I felt the toothpicks were the easiest way to get the little flicks that make it look like zebra stripes, something I havent yet mastered with the nail dotters or brushes.
The great part about this look is that if you mess up, you can just cover it up with the first polish. You cant even tell in the pictures that I messed up a few times and just went over it with the purples polish to fix it :)
I didnt choose to do the look on all my nails, but rather chose my thumb and my ring finger as accent nails. I have to say, I got tons of compliments on this look on this look and I was even able to recycle it after a few days. Keep an eye out for my next post, and youll see what I mean ;)
Have you tried doing zebra stripes? What tips and tricks do you have?
