Purchased: Lancome Gift With Purchase from Nordstrom

Purchased: Lancome Gift With Purchase from Nordstrom
Nordstrom is selling a Lancome bundle that is a gift with purchase of $39.50 or more. (Use http://mrrebates.com for 5% cash back.) The two Gift options are either Eye Gift or Cheek Gift. It`s not a bad idea to order online, because shipping is free, but I think the Eye Gift goes out of stock from time to time. It seems like they restock over the weekends, but this is available only while supplies last. Vague, isn`t it?
I chose the Cheek Gift.
The main reason why I wanted to get this gift set was because I wanted to try the Lancome Bi-Facil Double-Action Eye Makeup Remover. It got a lot of positive reviews and I need a good makeup remover. I don`t really ever wear heavy makeup, but what I do to remove makeup consists of simple, easy, some would say `ghetto` steps that require no actual makeup remover.

Use a baby wipe. They`re gentle, alcohol, chlorine-free, and kind of feel nice and cool on your skin.
Wash my face in the shower.
Dab a little lotion and gently wipe away with (warm) water and a tissue. The lotion and water breaks down cosmetics on your face and the water helps it un-attach from your skin.
These methods even work for me with mascara. Granted, I don`t use water-proof mascara, but it still works on my mascaras nonetheless. This is just what has been satisfactory enough for me in the past, but I had experimented with false eyelashes recently and wanted an actual makeup remover to do the job. My baby wipe idea and lotion trick took too long. I needed something more effective and time-friendly. Efficiency is key.

I didn`t want to waste my time with makeup removers that might work. When I was a lot younger, I tried the Maybelline makeup remover, which felt oily, gross, and was quite ineffective.

Since I`ve been happy with most Lancome products I`ve tried in the past and the Bi-Facil gets good reviews, I`ve been wanting to try it out myself. I wanted to buy it in a gift set, because I always buy Lancome products in a gift set, because you don`t get the most bang for your buck when you purchase individual products.
Anyways, back to what I actually wanted to talk about. This is what I got in my Cheek Gift in a Green Cosmetic Bag:

Rénergie Lift Volumetry Volumetric Lifting and Reshaping Cream for Normal to Combination Skin (0.5 oz.)
I`m not sure how I feel about this. It smells a little...um, I don`t want to say old lady smell, it`s not a bad smell, it`s like classic, old-school cosmetics, feminine-y smell. I think I might save it for Mother`s Day for my mama. Lol don`t worry I`ll give her other stuff too, not just this one tiny little jar of cream, which I don`t even know if it actually lifts and reshapes for normal to combination skin.

Visionnaire [LR 2412 4%] Advanced Skin Corrector (0.2 oz.)
This is first time I`ve seen the Visionnaire in a sample size with this kind of packaging. They`re usually in those flat, tear-off packaging. I`m interested in trying this out. I`m not sure what effect it`s supposed to achieve. Skin Corrector is vague to me. I`ll have to actually read it.

Crème Douceur Cream-to-Oil Massage Cleanser (2 oz.)
I was going to take a picture with a drop of this on the back of my hand. But then I thought I`m not sure if I want this to turn to oil on my hand...so I`ll hold off, or maybe I`ll include it in my Mother`s Day gift.

Hypnôse Doll Lashes Mascara (0.13 oz.)
I`m also interested in trying out this mascara. It seems to have gotten pretty good reviews too. I like how the wand/brush tapers off at the end so that I can get better control towards my corner lashes. The downside to this type of brush is that it picks up too much product at the tip. I`m always thorough about wiping it off the inside of the container.
Also, the packaging is so nice. The flower detail on the tube is subtle, discreet. It`s as if they were going for quiet sophistication without going for any in your face graphics.

Blush Subtil Shimmer Delicate Oil-Free Powder Blush in Mocha Havana (0.06 oz.)
I`m not sure that most people would consider this a blush. It leans to the brown side and I consider blushes to be in the pink range of the color spectrum. It does have quite a bit of sparkle to it, might be too shiny for bronzing. It might be good as a sheer, sparkly brown eye shadow.

Bi-Facil Double-Action Eye Makeup Remover (1.7 oz.)
Now, this is the main reason why I made the purchase and I must say I`m disappointed that the tiny bottle was not filled to the top. It`s a sample size ... why not fill it up?
Oh well, I`ll decide how much I like once I actually use it.

To get to $39.50, I bought 2 lipsticks. I love lipsticks and I heard Lancome`s lipsticks are moisturizing. For some reason, my lips always need moisture. I used the rest of my Nordstrom gift card. So I ended up paying about a little less than $30 after tax, which I think is not bad.

Rouge in Love - Pure Seduction
The Rouge in Love lipsticks are smaller and cost more than the rest of Lancome`s lipsticks.
Look at that packaging. At first I was concerned that the lipstick rubbed off onto the cap, but then I saw that it`s part of the packaging: a red flower. Again, discreet and quietly sophisticated.

Color Design - Pale Lip
Well, what do you know? I like the packaging on this on too. Just not as much because the bottom is not flat, so I can`t stand the lipstick up on its own. That clear bulbous bottom with the flower is really cute though, but you sacrifice some functionality. I like products to stand up on their own. So, to take a picture of the lipstick, I stood it up by putting the cap under the tube. I wouldn`t recommend doing this to a brand new lipstick that costs over $20. Lol, what was I thinking? I`d have been so mad if I broke it. Luckily, it`s fine and it looks really good.

I like these lipsticks a lot. It took me a long time to choose just two, because there are so many different options to choose from. I`d suggest you actually going to the department store and swatching them all. Plus it`s more fun that way.

Good night & thanks for stopping by! Uploading pictures on here is a pain in the butt.
