So recently I stopped by David`s Tea to see what fall teas they had this season. I`m a sucker for seasonal teas since they come out once a year and they just get you in the mood. I`m an avid tea drinker so any speciality tea gets me excited!
I started off looking at their Fall Tea Collection kit and smelling each of the displays. All the fall teas smelt great and boy was it hard to pick just one! The fall teas include: Pumpkin Chai, Sweet Apple Cider, Maple Sugar, Snickerdoodle, and Yes We Cran. After contemplating which one I wanted, I decided to get Pumpkin Chai.
-Pumpkin Chai seemed perfect for the fall season. This is a black tea with medium caffeine. The short description on the tin says: `This autumn treat has it all. Cinnamon and cloves, plus the sweetness of caramel and pumpkin candy.`
-Scent: At first smell, this tea definitely reminds you of fall. You can smell the sweetness of the caramel and the spiciness of the cinnamon. You could also pick up a hint of pumpkin as well!
-Ingredients: Black tea, cinnamon, cloves, caramel, carrot, lemon peel, pumpkin candies, natural and artificial flavouring. Contains milk and soy. I was quite surprised to see carrot as one of the ingredients. Probably the cutest ingredient of all would be the pumpkin candies!
-Steeping directions: 1 1/4 tsp per 240 mL and steep for 4-7 min in 96C water.
-Amount ordered: when I placed my order, I asked for 100g but the sales associate decided to `overfill` (which is a common gimmick to make more money to reach sale targets) 32g more. This didn`t upset me (just annoyed me a bit that they would do this) since I knew that I would use this tea throughout the fall season. Just giving a heads up to those who may be surprised with a high bill total than expected. I was expecting to pay $15 CAD for 100g since 50g is $7.50 CAD, but instead my total came to about $20 CAD. (David`s Tea is not the only place that does this. Teavanna is well known for doing this since their sales associates are based on commission and they are willing to do anything to sneak in a couple more grams to earn an extra buck or two.) Also, if you order 100g or more of tea from David`s tea, you get a free tin, which I prefer over a regular bag.
Overall, I`m happy with my purchase of this Pumpkin Chai Tea even if it meant the sales associate `overfilling` than the requested amount ordered. But nonetheless, I can`t wait to sip this throughout the day!
Have you tried David`s Tea before? Favourites from there?
P.S. Did you notice my cheesy Halloween background to match the fall season?
